L D M invests in the improvement of management efficiency and customer service

In early October 2013 L D M, a major producer of industrial valves with long history of production in Česká Třebová launched a project aimed to improve production economy and L D M ability to execute orders meeting the customers’ needs and wishes. A partner of the project is LOGIS, specializing in provision of expert services and advanced planning technologies.

L D M is a dynamic company showing steady growth of production volume as well as product range. This remarkably increases the demands for production management and planning. The existing tools for production planning and management are not capable of meeting the increasing requirements in the current economic environment, which is characterized, inter alia, by high pressure on meeting deadlines, shortening of lead times, acceleration of response on changes, etc. The company management therefore decided to undertake a project aimed to improve not only the customer service but also the overall company management efficiency making use of expert services and skills of LOGIS consultants with the support of JDA Factory Planner tool.

Ing. Vlastimil Dytrt, Chief Executive Officer of L D M summarized his expectation as follows: “We believe L D M competitiveness will be strengthened after the project completion so that our market share will be extended and we will also be able to further expand our activities into demanding foreign markets. We realize the fulfilment of this tasks will require a great deal of common efforts – from the improvement of Helios Green information system data quality level through establishment of data connections to optimization of company processes so that the increasingly demanding customer requirements can be flexibly responded to. Apart from improved efficiency and performance of the company, we expect the proposed solution will also provide a clear identification of problems in our order book.”

Ing. Tomáš Vojtík Executive Director of LOGIS adds the view of the company: “In this project LOGIS will employ its abundant experience in production planning in the environment of single-part or short-run production accumulated through dozens projects implemented in the Czech Republic and abroad. Our active approach to problem solution was appreciated by the client as early as during the business negotiations as a contrary of the usual procedure applied to implement classic information systems. We are ready to pursue this proactive approach also during the project execution. I believe it will drive us to the goal striven by both parties which is the improvement of operational efficiency and enhancement of customer service of L D M”.
